On 16 January 2026, Mosha Wellness Spa officially handed over the Khwai Village Library to the school and community in a ceremony that was both emotional and deeply meaningful.

What began as a simple book and stationery drive has grown into a multipartner initiative that is already changing lives in tangible ways.

The Khwai Primary School library, valued at P50,000.00 and generously donated by First Capital Bank Botswana, was officially received by the school headmaster on behalf of the community. The library now houses 2,835 books, creating a meaningful resource for learners. Of these, 500 books were donated by Kidz Academy from Kanye, while 1,434 books, along with chalk and dusters, were contributed by Macmillan Botswana. The remaining titles were collected through the Mosha Wellness Spa book drive, made possible by the generosity of our clients. In addition, stationery packs, backpacks, and essential school supplies were provided through the continued partnership between Mosha Wellness Spa and African Bush Camps Foundation, further strengthening support for learners and their classrooms.

On 10 February 2026, Mosha Wellness Spa hosted an official handover ceremony with partners, invited guests, and members of the media to reflect on the impact already being seen at the school and to outline the next phase of support for the Khwai community. Among the distinguished guests present was the Embassy of Japan, represented by Mr. KASHIMA Kohei, First Secretary and Head of the Public Relations and Culture Section, whose attendance was greatly appreciated as a sign of international goodwill toward community-driven educational development.

The first partner address was delivered by Thatayaone N. Matlapeng, Country Head of Retail Banking at First Capital Bank Botswana, whose presence was supported by a full FCBB delegation, including Acting CEO Lebogang Seleke. Mr. Matlapeng shared that when Mosha Wellness Spa approached them with the idea, supporting the project was an immediate decision. As a corporate that strongly believes in the power of education to change lives, First Capital Bank Botswana donated the P50,000.00 which went toward converting a container into the fully functional library structure. They have since expressed their commitment to continuing to support the Khwai community as the initiative grows.

Speaking on behalf of Lilly White, a family owned business that has long supported Mosha Wellness Spa’s community initiatives, the message centred on dignity and access. He reflected on how easy it is for many to take simple things like a pen, a school bag, or a notebook for granted, yet for a child in Khwai, those items can change an entire learning experience. Lilly White also announced that moving forward, they will partner with Sensobaby to collect baby essentials and clothing for families in Khwai, based on the belief that creating a supportive environment from the earliest stages of life contributes greatly to a child’s overall development and wellbeing.

Koinonia Baloyi, Fundraising and Campaign Manager at African Bush Camps Foundation, spoke about the Foundation’s broader work in the Khwai area and how this project fits into their long-term community development strategy. She reiterated that it is often the smallest interventions that create generational change. She also shared that the library donated through First Capital Bank has now been divided into two sections, with one side becoming a computer lab. African Bush Camps Foundation has successfully secured the computers for this lab. With this phase complete, the Foundation is now calling on partners and the wider community to assist with the school’s feeding programme, which currently costs P15,000 per month, amounting to P165,000 per year. Since the feeding programme began, improvements in children’s health have been observed, reinforcing the belief that good nutrition is essential for effective learning and overall wellbeing.

Kesego Nthomiwa, Sales and Marketing Manager at Macmillan Botswana, spoke passionately about the importance of reading and the power of a book to open a child’s mind to endless possibilities. Macmillan’s involvement came at the last minute when they learned about the book drive, yet they responded immediately with a substantial donation of books and classroom materials. Their CEO, Mr. Kopano Sechele, who was also present, reiterated Macmillan’s commitment to ensuring that every child is exposed to quality educational resources. This partnership will now extend into a teacher training programme in collaboration with Mosha Wellness Spa, aimed at strengthening learning outcomes in the classroom.

In her closing remarks, Mosha Wellness Spa Director, Lezanda Kubie, spoke about how heartwarming it was to see the smiles on the children’s faces and how knowing that this initiative could change their futures is what matters most. She shared her hope that one day a president, an astronaut, or a scientist will come out of that very school. She thanked all the partners for understanding that this is more than a corporate social responsibility project, but a real intervention in people’s lives, and expressed gratitude to the media present for helping to share the story.

This handover is not the end of the journey. Mosha Wellness Spa will continue the book drive throughout the year to keep adding to the library’s resources. Together with African Bush Camps Foundation, they will continue the annual book and stationery drive valued at P89,255.75. The focus for 2026 now shifts toward supporting the feeding programme, launching the teacher training programme with Macmillan, continuing the collection of baby essentials through Lilly White and Sensobaby, and calling on more corporates and individuals to partner in further developments for the Khwai community.

The vision remains clear: to see Khwai grow, to see its children thrive, and to build a learning environment that supports education, health, dignity, and opportunity for generations to come.
